The Waveshare 5G M.2 to Gigabit Ethernet Converter, 5G M.2 to USB3.1, Aluminum Alloy Case (SIM8262E-M2, US) is a versatile device designed to facilitate high-speed 5G networking. It supports 5G modules with an M.2 (NGFF) Key B interface and is compatible with mainstream 5G modules from brands such as SIMCom, Quectel, and Fibocom. The converter is equipped with an onboard RTL8125 Ethernet chip, enabling seamless conversion from 5G to Gigabit Ethernet, thus ensuring efficient data transfer via the Gigabit Ethernet port.
The device features an onboard USB 3.1 Type-A port, which allows for direct connection to PCs, Raspberry Pi, or Jetson series motherboards, providing high-speed 5G networking or debugging capabilities. It includes a voltage translator circuit that supports a 9-12V power supply via a DC 5.5mm jack or a 5V/2A power supply via the USB 3.1 port. Additionally, it has a standard SIM card slot and indicators for power supply and network status, along with a reset button for monitoring the module’s operational status and facilitating 5G debugging.
Constructed with an industrial-grade aluminum alloy enclosure, the converter boasts a durable and solid design with an oxidation dull-polish surface and CNC process opening. It supports both desktop and wall-mount installations, enhancing its versatility in various settings. The device is equipped with four 5G omnidirectional high-gain antennas and a 12V power supply adapter, ensuring ease of use with 5G modules.
The converter supports multiple operating modes, including USB3.1 Port Direct Connection Mode, Gigabit Ethernet Port Direct Connection Mode, Router Mode, and a simultaneous networking mode via both USB 3.1 and Gigabit Ethernet ports. These modes enable the device to provide 5G network access to multiple devices, making it suitable for diverse application scenarios.
