The AndyMark PicoBox Super Servo is a versatile gearbox specifically engineered for FIRST Tech Challenge teams, offering a robust solution for fine-tuning the output speed and torque of various mechanisms and drivetrains. It is designed to integrate seamlessly with familiar building systems, featuring a base 16 mm center-to-center hole pattern. The reversible flanges maintain this pattern, and the gearbox’s design allows for flexible configurations, such as mounting both the servo and output shaft on the same side.
This single reduction, single servo input gearbox employs durable steel 32DP gears and accommodates a HiTec or Futaba standard servo, among others, as its input. It features a sturdy steel 6 mm D shaft for output, enabling synchronized movements when both axles are connected to their respective output implements.
The gearbox supports experimentation with three different gear ratio options, allowing users to explore how varying ratios impact performance. It does not include a servo, providing the flexibility to install a suitable one for specific applications. Regular maintenance, including greasing and cleaning, is recommended to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the gearbox.
