This versatility allows users to configure the gearbox to either increase or decrease the output shaft speed relative to the input, depending on their specific needs. The gearbox features a 1/2 inch hex bore on both gears, enabling easy configuration changes without additional purchases.
The gearbox includes a short 1/2 inch hex output shaft, which extends approximately 2 inches from either face of the gearbox. Users have the option to replace this with any Toughbox output shaft, and the design allows for the replacement of the rear bearing with another 1/2 inch hex bearing. This flexibility supports the use of various shaft lengths without the need for machining, making it ideal for applications such as roller intakes when combined with compatible wheels.
The gearbox’s “wings” are engineered to fit over any 1 inch wide extrusion, such as Peanut or Box Tube, facilitating straightforward mounting to a robot’s frame. It offers three hardware options for input: CIM/NEO, Falcon, and Sport Gearbox. The Sport Gearbox option provides an additional stage of reduction and secure mounting, suitable for mechanisms like climbers. Users can also opt for a no gears version, allowing them to supply their own gears for custom ratios. Note: Ensure proper support and retention of the shaft to prevent operational hazards.
