The AndyMark EVO Shifter AM14U Family Shaft, Stage A 3 Stage – 32.74:1 Ratio 2:1, Stage B 3 Stage – 12.00:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient operation. It accommodates motor input from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant enhancements have been incorporated into the EVO Shifter, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the autonomy to select their high and low ratios independently and can swap between ratios as needed. The gearbox also offers more encoder options, including the US Digital E4T.
The EVO Shifter features aggressive weight reduction through machined gears and plates, and its cluster gears are designed for easy assembly. An optional third stage provides additional ratio choices, and the gearbox can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. The pneumatic shift method employs a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allowing shifts to occur even during acceleration or deceleration.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for a break-in period before applying grease to the spur gears periodically. No grease is required on the AMPCO bronze dog gear.
