The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 32.74:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 – 12.00:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed for use with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages. The gearbox features an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, enhancing strength and durability with a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and AMPCO 18 Bronze dog gear material, which offers added lubricity for smoother shifting.
The EVO Shifter incorporates a new shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, contributing to its robust design. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, allowing for a high first stage reduction. Users have the flexibility to independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T. The design includes aggressive weight reduction features and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame.
The gearbox employs a pneumatic shift method with a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enabling shifting while a robot is in motion. The EVO Shifter is shipped assembled but without motors installed. It requires proper greasing for optimal operation, with a recommended break-in period before applying grease. The gearbox’s design facilitates easy disassembly and assembly without concern for gear orientation, and it includes a range of spacers, bearings, and hardware for assembly.
