The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 25.90:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 Stage – 12.41:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The EVO Shifter features several improvements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides enhanced strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, ensuring durability. The input stage employs 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, with the option to swap ratios as needed.
The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and allows for easy disassembly and reassembly without concern for gear orientation. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes. The pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enables shifting while a robot is in motion, ensuring continuous operation even if air pressure is lost.
The EVO Shifter supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder. It requires periodic application of Red Tacky Grease for optimal performance and longevity. The gearbox’s encoder ratio is 3:1 on two-stage versions, and it includes shielded, flanged ball bearings and 4140 steel output shafts. The gearbox’s design and materials ensure a reliable and efficient performance for demanding applications.
