The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 25.90:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 – 12.41:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
The EVO Shifter features several improvements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, enhancing durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users can independently select high and low ratios, allowing for customizable performance.
The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and includes more encoder options, such as the US Digital E4T. It also supports a pneumatic shift method, using a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that enables shifting while a robot is in motion. The gearbox can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for a break-in period before applying grease to the spur gears periodically.
