The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 21.72:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 – 15.11:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It accommodates motor inputs from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which enhances strength and provides added lubricity for smoother shifting. The gearbox features a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, contributing to its durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, allowing for tailored performance adjustments.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for reliable operation even under varying conditions such as acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and includes more encoder options, such as the US Digital E4T. It is compatible with an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, providing versatile mounting options. The gearbox’s design ensures ease of assembly and disassembly without concern for gear orientation, thanks to the uniform features on the cluster gears.
Note: Ensure proper greasing and break-in procedures are followed for optimal performance and longevity of the gearbox.
