The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 25.90:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 – 06.90:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors, providing flexibility in motor input. The gearbox can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering a variety of output shaft options. The design includes plates specifically for mounting two motors, and the unit is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which offers enhanced strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users can independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, which allows for shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes. The optional third stage provides an additional C ratio choice, enhancing customization.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for initial wear-in before applying grease to the spur gears periodically. No grease is required on the AMPCO bronze dog gear.
