The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 45.33:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 Stage – 12.00:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient operation. It accommodates motor inputs from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed, even if included in the order.
The EVO Shifter incorporates several enhancements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity and strength. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, ensuring durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the freedom to independently select high and low ratios and can swap between them as needed.
The gearbox features aggressive weight reduction through machined gears and plates, and the cluster gears are designed for easy assembly without concern for orientation. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice. The pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allows for seamless shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is compatible with various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for initial wear-in, followed by periodic application of grease to the spur gears. No grease is required on the AMPCO bronze dog gear.
