The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 32.74:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 Stage – 21.72:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is designed with robust mounting plates to accommodate two motors and is delivered assembled, though motors are not included.
Significant improvements have been made to the EVO Shifter, including the use of AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which enhances lubricity and strength. The shift block assembly has been fortified with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, ensuring durability. The input stage features 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, providing a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the liberty to select independent high and low gear ratios, and the gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that allows shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is engineered for aggressive weight reduction, with machined gears and plates, and offers an optional third stage for additional ratio choices. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease to allow the gear teeth to wear in before applying grease periodically. No grease is required on the AMPCO bronze dog gear.
