The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 18.71:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 Stage – 08.63:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is designed with mounting plates to accommodate two motors, and it is shipped assembled without motors installed.
The EVO Shifter introduces several improvements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity for smoother shifting. The gearbox features a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, enabling a high first stage reduction. Users have the ability to independently select high and low ratios, with the option to swap ratios as needed. The gearbox also supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, allowing for shifting while a robot is in motion. The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features, and it can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. The gearbox requires grease for optimal operation and longevity, with a recommended break-in period before applying grease to the spur gears. The encoder ratio for two-stage versions is 3:1, ensuring precise control and performance.
