The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 12.41:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 Stage – 08.63:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient operation. It accommodates motor input from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed, even if included in the order.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including the use of AMPCO 18 Bronze for the dog gear, which enhances strength and lubricity. The gearbox features a robust shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, and the input stage utilizes 32 DP gears with a 15-tooth pinion gear for a high first stage reduction. Users have the ability to independently select high and low ratios, providing greater customization. The gearbox also supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that allows shifting while a robot is in motion. This feature ensures continued operation even if air pressure is lost. The gearbox is designed for aggressive weight reduction, with machined gears and plates, and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. It is essential to apply grease for optimal operation and longevity, with a recommended break-in period before greasing. The gearbox’s encoder ratio is 3:1 on two-stage versions, facilitating precise programming and control.
