The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 15.11:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 Stage – 45.33:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is designed with robust construction, featuring a 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and AMPCO 18 Bronze dog gear material, which provides increased strength and lubricity compared to previous models.
The EVO Shifter includes a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, enhancing durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users have the ability to independently select high and low ratios, providing customization options for various applications. The gearbox also supports multiple encoder options, including the US Digital E4T, and features aggressive weight reduction through machined gears and plates.
This gearbox employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that allows for shifting while a robot is in motion. The EVO Shifter is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, with cluster gears that have identical features on both sides. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes. The optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice, further enhancing its versatility.
Note: Proper greasing and a break-in period are recommended for optimal performance and longevity of the gearbox. Ensure to follow the specified procedures for installing pinion gears, especially when using a NEO motor, which requires a 3-ton arbor press due to the interference fit.
