The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 12.41:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 Stage – 05.45:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The EVO Shifter features several improvements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity for smoother shifting. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports easy swapping of ratios. Additional encoder options are available, enhancing its adaptability.
The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and allows for straightforward assembly and disassembly due to uniform cluster gear features. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice. The EVO Shifter can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. It employs a pneumatic shift method powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enabling shifts even during acceleration or deceleration.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease initially to allow the gear teeth to wear in before applying grease periodically. No grease is required on the AMPCO bronze dog gear.
