The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 12.41:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 – 05.45:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The EVO Shifter features several enhancements over previous models, including a dog gear with four dogs on each face, which increases the strength and durability of the transmission. The dog gear is crafted from AMPCO 18 Bronze, providing superior lubricity compared to stainless steel. A robust shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing is also included, ensuring reliable operation. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15.
Users have the ability to independently select high and low gear ratios, no longer restricted to predetermined spreads. The gearbox also supports various encoder options, enhancing its adaptability. Aggressive weight reduction features have been incorporated into the design, and the cluster gears are engineered for straightforward assembly. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice, further expanding the gearbox’s versatility.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that allows for gear shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. This ensures continuous operation even if air pressure is lost. The gearbox is designed to be mounted on an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, using existing mounting plate holes.
