The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 12.00:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 Stage – 27.72:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The design improvements include a robust dog gear with four dogs on each face, constructed from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides increased strength and lubricity compared to previous materials. A new shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing enhances durability. The input stage features 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction. Users have the autonomy to select their preferred high and low ratios, with the ability to interchange them as needed. The gearbox also supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T.
The EVO Shifter is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame. It employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for reliable operation even under dynamic conditions. The gearbox’s construction includes shielded, flanged ball bearings, 1117 steel 32 DP gears, and 4140 steel output shafts, ensuring robust performance. For optimal operation, it is recommended to apply Red Tacky Grease after an initial break-in period.
