The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Hex Shaft, StageA 3 Stage – 06.86:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 Stage – 25.90:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The EVO Shifter features several improvements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity and strength. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users can independently select high and low ratios and swap them as needed, with additional encoder options available for enhanced functionality.
The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and allows for easy disassembly and reassembly without concern for gear orientation. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes. The pneumatic shift method employs a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enabling shifts during acceleration, pushing, or deceleration.
