The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 08.63:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 – 18.71:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in its application. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
The design improvements include a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity and strength. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, enhancing durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enabling shifts during acceleration, pushing, or deceleration. The gearbox features aggressive weight reduction and is designed for easy assembly with cluster gears that have identical features on both sides. An optional third stage provides an additional C ratio choice, enhancing versatility. The gearbox can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
