The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 06.86:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 – 06.86:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between gears. It accommodates motor input from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant enhancements have been incorporated into the EVO Shifter, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity for smoother shifting. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage features 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios and swap them as needed, with additional encoder options available.
The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and cluster gears that allow for easy assembly without concern for gear orientation. An optional third stage offers an additional C ratio choice. The pneumatic shift method employs a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enabling shifts even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is compatible with an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, using existing mounting plate holes.
Note: Ensure proper greasing with Red Tacky Grease for optimal operation and longevity. A break-in period of 30 minutes without grease is recommended to allow gear teeth to wear in before applying grease periodically.
