The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Hex Shaft, StageA 2 Stage – 06.00:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage – 16.37:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for smooth and efficient transitions between gears. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection.
The gearbox features several improvements over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added lubricity and strength. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, enhancing durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users have the autonomy to select their preferred high and low ratios, with the ability to swap ratios as needed.
The EVO Shifter is equipped with a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder that allows for gear shifting even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, with cluster gears featuring identical characteristics on both sides. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame, providing versatility in application.
Additional features include aggressive weight reduction, various encoder options, and the inclusion of a US Digital encoder and pneumatic cylinder. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed. Proper maintenance involves running the gearbox without grease for initial wear-in, followed by periodic application of Red Tacky Grease to ensure optimal performance. Note: Ensure proper installation of pinion gears, especially when using a NEO motor, as a 3-ton arbor press is required due to the interference fit.
