The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 Stage – 06.00:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage – 16.37:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox is designed with an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for smooth and efficient operation. It accommodates motor input from two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Significant improvements have been made over previous models, including a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides enhanced strength and lubricity. The gearbox features a super-strong shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, contributing to its durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, allowing for tailored performance adjustments.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for reliable shifting even under dynamic conditions such as acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and includes more encoder options, such as the US Digital E4T. It is compatible with various mounting configurations, including the AM14U family chassis or a 2″x1″ box tube frame.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease for a break-in period before applying grease to the spur gears periodically.
