The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 – 05.45:1 Ratio 1.14:1, StageB 3 – 18.71:1 Ratio 1.14:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an improved 4-tooth dog shifting method, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is shipped assembled, though motors are not installed.
Enhancements in this model include a robust 1/8″ diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO 18 Bronze, which provides added strength and lubricity compared to previous stainless steel designs. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, ensuring durability. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, achieving a high 85:15 first stage reduction. Users have the autonomy to select their high and low ratios independently, with the option to swap ratios as needed.
The EVO Shifter also features aggressive weight reduction techniques and offers more encoder options, including the US Digital E4T encoder. The gearbox’s design allows for easy disassembly and reassembly without concern for gear orientation. An optional third stage provides an additional C ratio choice, enhancing customization. The pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enables shifting even during acceleration or deceleration.
Note: Proper greasing is essential for optimal operation and longevity of the gearbox. It is recommended to run the gearbox for 30 minutes without grease initially to allow the gear teeth to wear in before applying grease periodically.
