The AndyMark 4in. BB Mecanum Wheel 0.375in. Hex Bore Full Set is a meticulously engineered wheel set designed for optimal performance in FTC chassis systems, such as the MecanAM Chassis. This set includes four wheels, comprising two ‘right’ and two ‘left’ wheels, which are essential for creating a functional Mecanum drive holonomic system. The wheels are characterized by their lightweight and slim design, featuring ball bearings within each roller to ensure exceptionally smooth motion.
The configuration of the ‘right’ and ‘left’ wheels is crucial for the proper operation of a Mecanum drive system. When viewed from above, the wheels should form an ‘X’ pattern, with the ‘right’ wheels positioned at the front right and rear left, and the ‘left’ wheels at the front left and rear right. This arrangement allows for the unique movement capabilities of Mecanum wheels, including lateral and diagonal movement.
Each wheel in the set is constructed with a polycarbonate core and features twelve rubber rollers sandwiched between two steel plates. The rollers are made from TPU rubber with a durometer rating of 60A, providing a balance of flexibility and durability. The wheels are designed to be compatible with various shaft and motor configurations, including direct drive with 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch hex bores.
