The Pololu 10:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor HPCB 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Side Connector is a compact brushed DC motor featuring a robust metal gearbox with a cross-section of 1012 mm. It is equipped with a 9 mm long, 3 mm diameter D-shaped output shaft. This gearmotor integrates a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft’s rear protrusion. The encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution, enhancing precision in motion control applications.

The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards. The side connector orientation is perpendicular to the motor, offering flexibility in mounting configurations. The motor terminals are accessible through designated pins, allowing for consistent connectivity and operation in both directions by alternating the power polarity.

The sensors within the encoder are powered through specific pins, with a voltage range of 2.7 V to 18 V. The quadrature outputs deliver digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed, with built-in hysteresis to prevent erroneous signals.
