The Sherline 1-5/8 Handwheel w/ 11 Leadscrew Assembly (“) is an efficient solution for moving small slides or objects over a controlled distance. This assembly includes a handwheel paired with an 11-inch leadscrew, a thrust collar, and a brass nut, providing a comprehensive package for precise movement. The brass nut can be secured in a predrilled hole using a set screw, ensuring stability and ease of replacement when necessary. Alternatively, the leadscrew can be directly inserted into a drilled and tapped hole in the object to be moved.

The thrust collar is designed to be attached to the fixed portion of a design with a single screw, which is included in the package. Additionally, a backlash nut and lock are provided to control backlash on the leadscrew, enhancing precision. The leadscrew is available in both inch and metric thread pitches, with corresponding handwheel graduations for accurate measurement. Specifically, the inch leadscrew features a 1/4-20 thread pitch, with the handwheel having 50 graduations representing .001 inches per division. Each full rotation of the handwheel moves the leadscrew by .050 inches.
