The Sherline CNC-Ready Lathe Upgrade Kit for 4400, X Axis Motor Mount (“) enables the transformation of any existing Sherline lathe into a CNC-ready machine. This conversion process involves the precise drilling and tapping of several holes to securely attach the stepper motor mounts. The kit provides drill blocks that are affixed to the lathe’s table or bed using an existing hole, facilitating the drilling of two additional holes with the block serving as a guide. Once the holes are tapped, the new mount is installed, and a new leadscrew is required for the lathe’s leadscrew.

This upgrade kit is designed to prepare the lathe for the integration of stepper motors, allowing for CNC control through a system that the user must independently supply.
