The Sherline 2-Axis Lathe DRO w/o Readout Box (“) is designed for users who already possess a digital readout system on their milling machine and wish to extend this functionality to their lathe without the need for an additional electronics box. This innovative solution allows for the seamless interchange of the readout box between the lathe and the mill, providing a cost-effective approach to enhancing machining capabilities.

The digital readout handwheels included in this kit are intended to replace the standard handwheels typically supplied with the machine. Users have the option to select between inch and metric configurations to ensure compatibility with their machine’s leadscrew pitch. It is important to note that all machines equipped with ball screws utilize a metric pitch.

For those who opt for a machine with a factory-installed DRO, the standard handwheels are not provided. Conversely, if the DRO is acquired as a separate component and installed independently, the original handwheels will remain as spare parts.
