The Sherline Single-Axis Machine Slide w/ Dovetailed Headstock & Motor, 3/4-16 #1m Taper is a precision-engineered tool designed for meticulous machining tasks. It features a robust steel bed mounted on a raised base with ground dovetails, ensuring stability and precision during operations. The machine slide is equipped with a precision-rolled steel leadscrew, strategically positioned beneath the table to prevent chip accumulation, and offers adjustable backlash for enhanced accuracy. The industrial handwheel, measuring 2 inches, is finely graduated to facilitate precise adjustments, with increments of .001 inches for inch slides.
The headstock is crafted from extruded 6061-T6 aluminum, finished with a black anodized coating for durability and aesthetic appeal. It is available with a 3/4-16 #1M taper spindle, which is suitable for light-duty applications. The spindle includes a dust cover washer to protect the bearing, and there is an option for Nickel/Teflon plating to enhance rust resistance. The machine is powered by a 90-volt DC motor, which delivers maximum torque at low RPMs, supported by a 1/2 HP high-torque motor and a 2-step “V” belt pulley system. The variable speed control allows for a range of 70 to 2800 RPM, accommodating various machining requirements.
The speed control unit is versatile, accepting input voltages from 100 VAC to 240 VAC and converting them to 90V DC output, ensuring compatibility with different power sources.
