Users can operate the stepper motor directly via a keypad or input simple program commands for sequenced operations without requiring G-code knowledge. The system allows for the input of parameters such as direction, travel distance, feed rate, and program pauses, supporting up to 40 programmed steps across two user-settable programs. Controllers can be interconnected to signal each other or communicate with other CNC systems for synchronized operations.
The stepper motor is equipped with dual ball bearings and a preload nut to eliminate endplay, ensuring smooth and accurate movement. A dampened coupling connects the motor’s shaft to the leadscrew, and the dual-shaft design allows for manual operation using the included handwheel. The controller employs micro-stepping technology to enhance precision and smoothness in travel.
Mounting options are versatile, with provisions for securing the slide from either the bottom or the top. The bottom features four holes for mounting, while the top can be secured using angle clamps that fit into the base’s perimeter groove. This flexibility ensures a secure and stable setup for various applications.
The slide is capable of supporting a weight capacity of approximately 10 lbs, depending on the weight’s location and the table’s length. For optimal performance and longevity, regular lubrication of the dovetail and screw with light oil is recommended, especially under heavy use conditions.
