The Sherline Morse #1 Taper Tailstock for Pen Makers (Metric) is specifically engineered to accommodate pen-making accessories with a Morse #1 taper. This tailstock is an essential component for pen makers utilizing lathes, facilitating the use of pen mandrels and mandrel saver live centers that are compatible with Morse #1 tapers. It is available with either standard or zero adjustable handwheels, and features metric graduations to suit precise pen-making requirements.
This tailstock is not intended for use with larger-size tailstock chucks, as the machine is not designed to withstand the forces exerted by such tools. The spindle is laser-engraved with a ‘0’ line, which is strategically positioned approximately 33mm from the spindle’s end. This marking indicates the point at which the tailstock feed screw will eject the Morse taper shank of an accessory from the spindle, ensuring accurate and efficient operation.
Note: This product is not suitable for larger-size tailstock chucks due to potential damage from excessive force.
