This crosslide is notably thicker than the standard version, measuring .870 inches, which necessitates the use of a headstock riser plate to align the tooling with the headstock. This modification allows the crosslide to accommodate multiple gang-tooling tool posts, enhancing its utility for specialized machining tasks.

However, it is important to note that this crosslide is not intended to replace the standard lathe crosslide for regular operations. The increased thickness and the requirement for a riser plate mean that the tailstock cannot be utilized, and certain accessories, such as the thread-cutting attachment, are incompatible with this setup. The assembly includes a leadscrew and a standard 1-5/8 inch handwheel, providing the necessary components for its operation.
