The Sherline WW Collet Adapter for 5/8″ Gang Tooling facilitates the use of WW collets within a 5/8″ Gang-Tool Post, which is not included. This adapter is particularly beneficial for precision tasks, allowing for the accurate centering of extremely small drills. Such precision is crucial as drills measuring only a few thousandths of an inch are prone to breakage if not perfectly aligned.

The adapter is designed to accommodate Sherline WW collets with a shank diameter ranging from .312 to .313 inches. It features a hex retaining cap that secures the collet firmly in place. This hex cap can be tightened more effectively with a 1-inch hex wrench, as opposed to a knurled cap that is typically tightened by hand. The use of a wrench ensures that the retaining cap is sufficiently tight to prevent any movement or spinning of the drill within the collet, especially when employing a CNC machine for drilling operations.
