The UPSberry Smart UPS Shield w/ RTC for Raspberry Pi is a sophisticated Plug&Play UPS Smart Shield that incorporates a Real Time Clock for enhanced functionality with Raspberry Pi systems. This device requires no maintenance and can be powered by either 12Vdc or 24Vdc. It provides a 10-second UPS saver feature, which allows for a proper shutdown process by utilizing a Raspberry Pi input. It is crucial to use the correct version of Raspbian already installed on the SD card before connecting the UPS Shield to the Raspberry Pi. This product is compatible with all versions of Raspberry Pi B.

The UPS Shield is designed to recharge in less than one minute and reconnect in under 20 seconds. It supports a supply voltage of 12~24Vdc or 5Vdc via USB-C and recommends using an adapter with a power output of 1.5A (20W) or higher. The power supply interface includes a 3.81 mm connector for 12~24 V DC or a Micro-USB type C for 5 V DC. It is capable of delivering a maximum output current of 3A with thermal shutdown included and provides a stable 5V output.

Key features of the UPS Shield include a standard Raspberry Pi extension interface, which ensures compatibility with other expansion boards. It supports a maximum output current of 3A, making it suitable for a wide range of Raspberry Pi applications. The device is designed with auto-switching between charging and load paths to prevent shutdowns. It also features an integrated LED to indicate external power status and a programmable power on/off switch (ICSP connector). The UPS Shield is equipped with Super Caps charge/discharge protection and overheating protection, making it one of the most robust UPS solutions for Raspberry Pi.

It is IMPORTANT to use the correct version of Raspbian already installed on the SD before connecting the UPS Shield to the Raspberry Pi.
