The Shapeoko HDZ for Shapeoko 3 (Carbide Motion PCB 2.4d or higher) is a premium upgrade designed to enhance the performance of the Shapeoko 3 CNC machine. This Heavy-Duty Z/X axis assembly is precision-milled to replace the existing X/Z carriage, offering increased rigidity and maintaining the original Z clearance. The design incorporates a ball screw and linear rails, facilitating smooth movement even with heavier spindles.
This upgrade provides 150mm of Z-travel and features a robust 15mm machined aluminum back plate. It is particularly suitable for accommodating heavy 2.2kw spindles, supported by a new 80mm mount. The kit includes inductive proximity switches and mounts for the X, Y, and Z axes, ensuring comprehensive support from Carbide 3D and Carbide Motion.
The kit arrives pre-assembled, making it 95% ready for installation. The only components required from the existing setup are the spindle mount and limit switches. GRBL changes are managed by Carbide Motion, ensuring seamless integration. This upgrade necessitates a change to the included proximity homing switches, thus it is compatible only with machines equipped with Carbide Motion PCB version 2.4d or higher.
Note: Ensure approximately 270mm of clearance from the top of the X rail if the machine is enclosed.
