The Motoron M1T550 Single I2C Motor Controller (Header Pins Soldered) is a compact device designed to control a single DC motor via an IC interface. It is possible to connect multiple Motoron controllers to the same IC bus, thereby facilitating the expansion of a system with additional motors. The M1T550 is compatible with motor supply voltages ranging from 1.8V to 22V and can deliver continuous output currents of up to 1.8A. This particular model comes with pre-soldered headers.
The Motoron M1T550 is designed to control a single bidirectional, brushed DC motor using an IC or TTL serial (UART) interface, respectively. Measuring 0.6×0.6 inches, it supports motor supply voltages from 1.8V to 22V and can deliver continuous output currents up to 1.8A. It is possible to configure multiple Motoron controllers to operate on a single IC or serial bus, thereby enabling independent control of numerous motors. Unlike many motor drivers, the Motoron does not necessitate any PWM outputs or timers on the microcontroller. Instead, a single IC or UART interface is all that is required, regardless of the number of Motoron controllers connected.
The M1T550 model features an IC interface and comes with pre-soldered headers. It is equipped with one motor control channel, which allows for the control of one bidirectional brushed DC motor per motor. The device supports a wide motor supply voltage range of 1.8V to 22V (absolute maximum) and a maximum output current per motor of 1.8A continuous, with a peak of 5A for less than one second. The M1T550 also offers reverse-voltage protection on the motor power supply (down to 20V) and a logic voltage range of 3.0V to 4.9V. The control interface for the M1T550 is IC (up to 400kHz). The device also features configurable motion parameters and a command timeout feature that halts the motor if the Motoron ceases to receive commands. Additionally, it is equipped with two status LEDs, motor direction indicator LEDs, and an error output for easier detection of error conditions. Despite its numerous features, the device maintains a compact size of 0.6 x0.6 inch.
Please note that the nominal 5V is not recommended for the logic voltage range. The device also has reverse-voltage protection on the motor power supply down to -20V.
