The Tamiya Friction Power Unit is specifically designed for powering Educational Construction models and various other creations. When the drive wheel is spun, the flywheel within the unit rotates, storing energy and transferring it through the shaft to the crank wheels. Encased in a clear ABS material, the unit provides gear ratios of 37.8:1 and 44.1:1.

Additionally, a front roller is included, enabling the unit to function as a moving vehicle when paired with kit-included crank wheels or separately purchased rear wheels, such as those found in Item 70193 Slim Tire Set (36mm, 55mm Diameter). This Friction Power Unit is compatible with a wide range of separately available Educational Construction Series components, including universal plates, arms, wheels, tracks, and more.
